Video showing the moment Peter Obi’s convoy faced an attack in Calabar amid tension with APC supporters has emerged.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that a video has surfaced online showing a tense moment involving the convoy of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in Calabar, Cross River State, amid reports of a confrontation between supporters of the NDC and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The incident reportedly occurred shortly after Obi visited the palace of the Obong of Calabar.
Obi’s media aide, Esther Umoh, had earlier raised the alarm over an alleged attempt by suspected political thugs to attack the campaign convoy.
In a statement announcing the development, Umoh wrote: “Thugs are trying to attack our convoy.”

The video circulating online has drawn attention to the security concerns surrounding the politician’s visit to the state.
Reports on Wednesday indicated that police operatives intervened to prevent a possible clash between supporters of Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso’s political movement and APC supporters in Calabar.
The confrontation reportedly occurred as the NDC prepared to hold a presidential town hall meeting featuring Obi and Kwankwaso, while APC supporters were also conducting a rally in the area.
Security operatives reportedly moved in to separate the rival groups and prevent the disagreement from escalating into violence.
However, the identities of those seen in the video and the circumstances surrounding the alleged attempt to attack Obi’s convoy have not been independently established.
