The Deputy Campaign Spokesperson of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Sam Omale, has dismissed concerns about the health of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, insisting that he is in perfect health but experiencing physical exhaustion from his demanding political engagements.
Omale made this clarification during an interview on Channels Television, where he explained that Obi’s busy schedule and frequent travels between different locations had taken a toll on his energy.
According to him, the presidential candidate remains passionate about his political activities and often handles multiple engagements simultaneously, leaving him with little time to rest.

He noted that Obi’s frequent movement between locations, sometimes within a short period, contributed to his exhaustion.
“Sometimes I wonder where he gets his energy from. He is in London today and the following morning in Enugu. I’m wondering how he does it. Exhaustion comes in; he is a human being,” Omale said.
The NDC spokesperson, however, maintained that there was no underlying medical condition affecting the former Anambra State governor.
He disclosed that members of Obi’s team had been encouraging him to slow down, get adequate sleep and take time to recover from his demanding schedule.
“He is in perfect health. There’s nothing wrong with him. It’s just exhaustion, and we are trying to calm him down to take a sleep. He is fine,” he added.
Omale further assured that the physical exhaustion would not affect the party’s ongoing campaign activities, maintaining that Obi remained committed to his political engagements.
