NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has described Arsenal as the best defensive team in world football following their 1-0 win over Liverpool at the weekend.
Speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, Carragher praised the Gunners’ defensive organisation, arguing that their performances have set them apart from other teams.
“This Arsenal team is not only the best defensive team in the Premier League, I think they are now the best defensive team in world football,” Carragher said.
Arsenal currently have the Premier League’s best defensive record, having conceded just five goals in nine matches this season.
Mikel Arteta’s side also remain top of the league table following their victory at Anfield, opening up a three-point lead over second-placed Manchester City.
In the UEFA Champions League, Arsenal have conceded only two goals ahead of their Wednesday clash with Slavia Praha.
