Charles Okocha, Basit “Joker Boy” Adebayo, Yusuf Adeniji, Suleiman Jafaru, Michael Babalola and Shiloh “Sugar Shy” Defreitas emerged victorious at the Chaos in the Ring boxing event held on Friday, July 31, at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The action-packed event featured professional and celebrity boxing contests, with the headline rematch between Nollywood actor Charles Okocha and street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, ending in dramatic fashion.
Portable was disqualified after leaving the ring before the end of the opening round during their bout tagged “Unfinished Business.” The contest briefly descended into chaos following a wrestling-style exchange before security officials restored order. Although Portable later returned to the ring, officials ruled him out and awarded victory to Charles Okocha.

Speaking before the fight, Portable had expressed optimism despite admitting he was unhappy, saying, “I am not happy, but I want God to make me happy and my family.”
One of the standout performances of the night came from Basit “Joker Boy” Adebayo, who knocked out Said Mohamed Hassan in the second round after dominating the contest from the opening bell.
Reacting after the victory, Adebayo thanked God for the win and declared his ambition to become the face of boxing in Nigeria.
“I prepared for this fight, and I was determined to face off with him,” he said. “I’m ready to be the face of Nigeria. I think I am currently the face of boxing in Nigeria.”
Yusuf Adeniji also impressed with a unanimous decision victory over Rilwan Lawal in their super-featherweight contest. The judges scored the fight 79-72, 78-73 and 78-73 in Adeniji’s favour.
Another major highlight saw Suleiman Jafaru stun former British super-welterweight champion Samuel Antwi with a sensational knockout victory. His performance earned him an immediate promotional contract with Balmoral Promotions, while one of the event sponsors rewarded him with an electric car.
Michael Babalola continued his unbeaten professional career by defeating Abidemi Rabiu via unanimous decision, while Shiloh “Sugar Shy” Defreitas claimed a unanimous decision win over Ghana’s Eric “Kojo” Quarm in their welterweight contest.
In the night’s other celebrity clash, music stars Mr Real and Idowest battled for five rounds before judges declared the contest a draw. Idowest disputed the verdict, insisting he had done enough to secure victory, while organisers announced that both artistes would meet again in a rematch scheduled for October 1.
