Nigerian Army Opens 91RRI Recruitment Portal for 2026 Intake, APPLY NOW

Applicants must ensure they complete and submit their application online after printing the photo card, as failure to do so will lead to disqualification.

Nigerian Army has opened 91RRI Recruitment Portal for 2026 intake,  how to apply and eligibility requirements.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of online registration for its 91st Regular Recruits Intake (91RRI) for tradesmen/women and non-tradesmen/women across the country.

According to the Army, the recruitment portal will open on Sunday, March 30, 2026, and close on Saturday, May 17, 2026. The annual exercise offers eligible young Nigerians the opportunity to enlist and serve as soldiers.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants interested in the 91RRI recruitment must meet the following conditions:

  • Candidates must be single Nigerian citizens by birth.
  • Applicants must possess a National Identification Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
  • Names and dates of birth on the NIN must correspond with the BVN and other credentials.
  • Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit according to Nigerian Army standards.
  • Candidates must have no criminal conviction by any court of competent jurisdiction.
  • Applicants must possess at least four passes including English Language in not more than two sittings in WASSCE, GCE, NECO, NABTEB, or NBAIS.
  • Tradesmen/women applicants must also possess a Trade Test or City and Guild Certificate.
  • Candidates must present a valid birth certificate issued by the National Population Commission, hospital, or local government council. A court affidavit of age declaration is also acceptable.

Age and Height Requirements

  • Non-tradesmen/women: 18–22 years
  • Tradesmen/women: Not more than 26 years by June 30, 2026
  • Minimum height:
    • Male: 1.68 metres
    • Female: 1.65 metres

Applicants are also required to apply using their state of origin rather than their state of residence and must present a valid certificate of state of origin.

How to Apply

Interested candidates can apply online by following these steps:

  1. Visit the recruitment portal:
    Go to the official Nigerian Army recruitment website:
    https://recruitment.army.mil.ng/
  2. Select the 91st Regular Recruit Intake (RRI):
    On the homepage, click the RRI application section for the 91st intake.
  3. Review the eligibility criteria:
    Carefully read all conditions of entry before proceeding.
  4. Create an account:
    New applicants should register using a valid email address.
  5. Complete the online application form:
    Fill in personal information, educational qualifications, NIN, BVN, and trade certifications where applicable. Upload required documents.
  6. Submit and confirm:
    Review all entries for accuracy before submitting the form.
  7. Print acknowledgement slip:
    After submission, download and print the application acknowledgement slip and photo card.

Applicants must ensure they complete and submit their application online after printing the photo card, as failure to do so will lead to disqualification.

Screening Process

Successful applicants will be invited for physical screening at designated centres in their states of origin.

Candidates are expected to present the following documents during the screening exercise:

  • Photo card
  • Applicant declaration form
  • Parent/guardian consent form
  • Certification by Local Government Chairman or Secretary
  • Certification by Divisional Police Officer
  • Guarantor’s form

Screening will involve physical fitness tests, medical examinations, and document verification.

Important Guidelines

  • There will be no pre-selection computer-based test.
  • Screening will take place in applicants’ states of origin.
  • Candidates must not bring electronic or recording devices to the screening venue.
  • Tattoos, body inscriptions, or piercings (other than tribal marks) are not permitted. Multiple ear piercings for female applicants are also prohibited.
  • Applicants must present original copies of all credentials, including primary and secondary school certificates.
  • Candidates must not belong to any cult or secret society.
  • Any candidate found to have submitted false documents will be disqualified and handed over to the police.

Shortlisted candidates will be published on the Nigerian Army recruitment website and are expected to report to their states of origin for screening between June 9 and June 23, 2026.
