GTBank has launched Quick Airtime Loan at 2.95% via *737# and is currently offering instant airtime credit of up to ₦10,000.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Guaranty Trust Bank Ltd (GTBank), the flagship banking franchise of GTCO Plc, has announced the launch of Quick Airtime Loan, a new digital solution that gives customers instant access to airtime when they run out of call credit and have limited funds in their bank accounts.

Designed for today’s always-connected environment, the service enables eligible customers to borrow airtime directly from their bank, helping them stay connected during critical moments. Customers can access between ₦100 and ₦10,000 by dialing 73790#, with the service available across all major mobile networks in Nigeria. The bank also disclosed plans to expand the offering to include data loans in the near future.

Quick Airtime Loan enters a market historically dominated by telecom operators, where airtime credit services typically attract charges of up to 15 per cent. GTBank’s offering is priced at 2.95 per cent, positioning it as a cost-effective, bank-led alternative built on transparency, affordability and convenience.

According to the bank, the solution is designed to broaden access to airtime, provide cost savings for millions of Nigerians and embed financial services more seamlessly into everyday life beyond traditional banking transactions.

Commenting on the launch, Miriam Olusanya, Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank Ltd, said the product reflects the bank’s commitment to delivering practical digital solutions tailored to real customer needs. She noted that the initiative combines GTBank’s digital reach and lending expertise with the capabilities of HabariPay to provide a seamless, end-to-end customer experience.

Quick Airtime Loan is powered by HabariPay’s Squad platform, reinforcing GTCO’s strategy as a diversified financial services group that integrates banking, payment technology and digital channels into a unified ecosystem.

The launch builds on GTBank’s track record of digital innovation, including its widely adopted QuickCredit product and the bank’s flagship *737# USSD banking platform, which has expanded access to financial services across Nigeria.

With this latest rollout, GTBank continues to deepen its digital-first approach, offering customers simple, on-demand solutions designed to meet everyday financial and lifestyle needs.
