Turaki-led PDP Faction in Rivers has collapsed into Wike’s group.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Tanimu Turaki–led leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State has collapsed its political structure into the Aaron Chukwuemeka–led faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.

The development was announced on Friday by Robinson Nname Ewor, the factional chairman of the Turaki-led PDP in the state, during Wike’s local government visit to Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area.

Ewor declared that the move effectively ends factionalisation within the PDP in Rivers State, placing the party under a single leadership aligned with Wike.

“Finally, before I go, I want you to know that I am Sim’s PDP chairman,” Ewor said. “Today, I am handing over that chairmanship and the leadership of that faction to Aaron Chukwuemeka.

“PDP is no longer factionalised in Rivers State. The party is now under one chairman, one leadership, under the FCT leader.”

The announcement comes a day after Ewor accused Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, of misleading PDP members by claiming he had the political strength to defeat Wike in the ongoing power struggle in the state.

The collapse of the Turaki-led faction into the Wike-aligned group has raised fresh questions about the future political balance within the PDP in Rivers State.
