BREAKING: Naval Chief Approves Massive Redeployment of 65 Rear Admirals (FULL LIST)

Vice Admiral Abbas congratulated the newly appointed officers and urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating renewed commitment, professionalism, and dedication to national security and development.

Naval Chief has approved massive redeployment of 65 Rear Admirals.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Idi Abbas, has approved the appointment and redeployment of 65 Rear Admirals to key positions across the Nigerian Navy, Defence Headquarters, and other Tri-Service institutions.

This was disclosed in a statement on Monday in Abuja by the Director of Naval Information, Commodore Ayiwuyor Adams-Aliu.

According to the statement, the large-scale postings are aimed at strengthening operational efficiency, enhancing maritime security, and repositioning the Navy for improved performance and synergy across commands.

Among the major appointments:

  • Rear Adm. Suleiman Abdullahi, formerly at Defence Headquarters, becomes Chief of Logistics at Naval Headquarters (NHQ).

  • Rear Adm. Kasim Bushi moves from Headquarters Naval Training Command to the International Maritime Institute of Nigeria as Executive Director.

  • Rear Adm. Suleiman Dahun has been appointed Director of Defence Cooperation at DHQ.

  • Rear Adm. Abdullahi Ahmed assumes duty as Commandant, National Defence College.

  • Rear Adm. Musa Katagum becomes Chief of Operations; Rear Adm. Fredrick Damtong, Chief of Naval Engineering; and Rear Adm. Abdul-Rasheed Haruna, Chief of Training, all at NHQ.

Commodore Adams-Aliu also confirmed the following appointments:

  • Rear Adm. Abiodun Alade – Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Logistics Command

  • Rear Adm. Abubakar Mustapha – FOC, Western Naval Command

  • Rear Adm. Chidozie Okehie – FOC, Eastern Naval Command

  • Rear Adm. Suleiman Ibrahim – FOC, Central Naval Command

  • Rear Adm. Mohammed Muye – Commandant, Naval War College Nigeria

  • Rear Adm. Abdul-Hamid Baba-Inna – Navy Secretary
