APC has disqualified Kayode Ojo from Ekiti Governorship Primary.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disqualified Engineer Kayode Ojo from contesting in the party’s forthcoming governorship primary election in Ekiti State.

The announcement came shortly after Ojo’s visit to the APC state secretariat in Ado-Ekiti on Thursday, where he reportedly received no formal reception from party officials.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, the APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Duro Meseko, confirmed that the screening committee cleared only Governor Abiodun Oyebanji and Omolayo Oluremi to participate in the primary election.

Ojo, who had earlier stormed Ado-Ekiti with thousands of supporters from across the state’s 16 local government areas, was one of the top contenders expected to challenge Oyebanji in the October 27 primary.

Further details on the reasons for his disqualification are expected to be made public soon.
