Ali Modu Sheriff has declared that only two things can stop Tinubu from winning 2027 presidential election.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Former Governor of Borno State and ex-Senator, Ali Modu Sheriff, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is on track to win the 2027 presidential election, barring two exceptional circumstances.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Sheriff boldly stated that only the cancellation of elections or Tinubu’s personal decision not to run could prevent his re-election.

“I can tell you for free, the only thing that will stop President Tinubu from winning election in 2027 are only two factors. One, if there’s no election. Two, if he decides not to run,” he said.

‘Politics Is Not Sentiment’ — Sheriff Says Tinubu Remains Strongest Candidate

Sheriff, known for his deep involvement in Nigerian politics, explained that political success is not driven by public opinion or emotion, but by strategy, structure, and understanding of the political terrain.

“I don’t go to jamboree. Politics is a different ballgame. You have to study it,” he said, emphasizing that real politicians observe reality, not noise.

He argued that President Tinubu remains the most formidable contender in the current political environment, asserting that any other expectation is driven by wishful thinking rather than facts.

Support for Tinubu Grows Among Political Veterans

Sheriff’s statement adds to the growing chorus of support from political veterans who believe the Tinubu administration has built the right alliances and momentum for a second term.

Observers say Sheriff’s comments may reflect the ongoing consolidation of political power within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), as it gears up for the 2027 elections.
