Zenith Bank has reinforced commitment to children through education and financial literacy and inclusion initiatives.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Zenith Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to children’s development through a range of initiatives focused on education, financial literacy, healthcare, digital inclusion and social protection as part of activities marking the 2026 Children’s Day celebration.

The bank said its growing investment in child-focused programmes reflects a long-term strategy aimed at empowering young Nigerians with the tools, knowledge and opportunities needed to thrive and become future leaders.

As part of its initiatives, Zenith Bank has continued its partnership with Kiddies Corner on Inspiration 92.3FM Lagos, where it sponsors the Tuesday edition and the Zenith Financial Literacy Friday programme.

The programme combines spelling bee competitions with financial literacy education while also introducing children to the Zenith Children’s Account (ZECA).

The partnership was showcased during the Inspiration FM Children’s Day Carnival held on May 23, 2026, where the bank hosted more than 1,000 children and parents through games, educational activities and gift presentations.

Zenith Bank also disclosed that its quarterly Financial Literacy Week has continued to impact students across Nigeria, teaching them practical lessons on savings, budgeting, investments and financial planning.

According to the bank, top-performing students in participating schools receive N50,000 rewards, while its nationwide financial literacy programme under the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Global Money Week reached 3,622 students across 22 local government areas in 2025 alone.

In support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 on Quality Education, the bank said it has donated ICT centres, computer systems, libraries and renovated educational facilities across several schools nationwide.

Beneficiaries include Bamaina Academy in Dutse, Jigawa State, Ojota Secondary School and Victoria Island Secondary School in Lagos, among others.

The bank also highlighted several targeted educational interventions, including a N1 million donation to Louisville Girls High School, Ijebu-Itele, scholarship support for St. Francis Catholic Secondary School and contributions to the North-East Children’s Fund for conflict-affected communities.

Through its Primary Healthcare Centre Initiative across the 774 local government areas in Nigeria, Zenith Bank said it also educates parents on early childhood savings and financial wellbeing.

In addition, its “PAD-A-QUEEN” initiative, organised to mark the International Day of the Girl Child, has provided sanitary materials, hygiene kits and menstrual health education to over 5,000 girls in 10 schools nationwide.

The bank’s support also extends to vulnerable children through donations to orphanages, support for children living with disabilities and partnerships with humanitarian organisations.

Beneficiaries include Bethesda Home and School for the Blind in Lagos and the Bosco Child Protection Centre, where the bank supported street children with healthcare, food, counseling and clothing assistance.

Speaking on the bank’s commitment to child development, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Zenith Bank, Adaora Umeoji, said the institution remains intentional about empowering children because they represent both the nation’s future and present responsibility.

According to her, Zenith Bank’s investments in education, health, financial literacy and digital inclusion are designed to equip children early for leadership and national development.

The bank also highlighted its Zenith Annual Youth Parade, a long-running corporate social responsibility initiative that has promoted youth expression, discipline and leadership development among Nigerian children and teenagers for nearly two decades.

Zenith Bank stated that its Children’s Day initiatives represent more than a yearly celebration, describing them as part of its ongoing commitment to empowering and preparing Nigerian children for a brighter future.
