Zenith Bank is set to host 10th Non-Oil Export Seminar August 25.

NewsOnline Nigeria repoorts that Zenith Bank Plc will convene policymakers, regulators, exporters, manufacturers and investors at the 10th edition of its International Trade Seminar on Non-Oil Export.

The virtual seminar, scheduled for Tuesday, August 25, 2026, will examine strategies for expanding Nigeria’s non-oil export sector and strengthening its contribution to sustainable economic growth.

The event, themed “Unlocking Value and Harnessing Growth in Non-Oil Export,” will begin at 9:00 a.m. West African Time.

Discussions will focus on developing globally competitive value chains, expanding access to international markets, improving trade infrastructure and financing, and reducing Nigeria’s dependence on raw commodity exports.

Zenith Bank said the seminar would feature the Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, Wamkele Mene; Chief Executive Officer of Plot Enterprise Ghana Limited, Patricia Poku-Diaby; and immediate past President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the African Export-Import Bank, Benedict Oramah.

The programme will also include separate public- and private-sector panel discussions on the opportunities and challenges affecting Nigeria’s export industry.

The public-sector panel will feature the Managing Director of the Nigerian Export-Import Bank, Abba Bello; Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi; and Director of the Trade and Exchange Department at the Central Bank of Nigeria, Aderinola Shonekan.

Other participants will include the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission, Aisha Rimi, and the Executive Director of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Nonye Ayeni.

The private-sector session will bring together the Managing Director of Starlink Global & Ideal Limited, Adeniji Adeyemi; Group Executive Director of Dangote Group, Sada Ladan-Baki; and Senior Consultant at 3T Impex Trade Centre, Bamidele Ayemibo.

Also expected on the panel are the Managing Director of Terra Aqua Environmental Consultancy Nigeria Limited, Mobolaji Salako; Managing Director of RMM Global, Ramzi Taher; and Managing Director of Lelook Nigeria Limited, Chinwe Ezenwa.

The panellists will provide perspectives on export financing, customs procedures, port efficiency, regulation, market access and the competitiveness of Nigerian products in regional and global markets.

AfCFTA opportunities in focus

The seminar will examine how Nigerian companies can take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Area to reach customers in other African countries and participate in regional value chains.

AfCFTA is intended to deepen intra-African trade by reducing barriers and connecting businesses to a market of more than one billion people.

Participants will discuss how Nigerian manufacturers and exporters can improve product quality, meet international standards, build stronger supply chains and compete more effectively across the continent.

Zenith Bank said it had supported initiatives designed to facilitate cross-border trade and expand access to commercial opportunities across Africa, including partnerships with the AfCFTA Secretariat.

Now in its 10th edition, the bank’s International Trade Seminar has developed into a platform for discussions among government institutions, regulators, financial organisations, exporters and other stakeholders within Nigeria’s trade ecosystem.

The 2026 edition will seek practical proposals for moving Nigeria beyond the export of unprocessed commodities and translating its productive capacity into employment, foreign-exchange earnings and sustainable economic development.

The seminar will be streamed on Zoom, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X and TikTok.
