NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Falconets’ star Philomena Addo Yina was honoured with the Player of the Match award following her impressive performance in Nigeria’s victory over Korea on Monday morning.
The tightly contested Group D encounter at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup ended 1-0 in favor of Chris Danjuma’s team. The match was decided by a crucial 84th-minute goal from Flourish Sabastine, which ultimately secured the win for Nigeria.

Nigeria secured their fourth consecutive victory over Korea, having previously won 2-0 in 2012, 2-1 in 2014, and 1-0 in 2022.
Philomina Addo Yina was Nigeria’s standout performer in the fiercely contested match. Following the game, the midfielder took to social media to celebrate her Player of the Match award.

The Falconets are set to face former champions Germany in their next game on Wednesday.
