Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has ordered an immediate shutdown of all prostitutes’ brothels in the state, just as he banned the wearing of face masks in the public.

Newsonline reports that Bello gave the order following rising cases of insecurity in the state.

On Tuesday, in Lokoja, in a meeting with local government chairmen, first class and second class traditional rulers in the state, Governor Bello charged the council chairmen to ensure immediate execution of the orders.

Bello called on the traditional rulers to keep vigilance and monitor security situations in their communities.

He said, “Ensuring peaceful coexistence in your domain is your exclusive responsibility. You have the exclusive responsibility to ensure that all nooks and crannies of your areas are free from criminality of all sorts.”
