Tinubu has told his supporters that it is insulting to mention star actress and PDP’s Lagos gubernatorial running mate Funke Akindele in his presence.

 

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, told his supporters that it is insulting to mention star Nollywood actress and PDP’s Lagos gubernatorial running mate, Funke Akindele, in his presence.

Newsonline reports that Tinubu is backing incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of APC for reelection.

At a political outing in Lagos, his supporters had sung a campaign song, describing Ms. Akindele as a political ‘ant’ compared to Mr. Tinubu’s anointed candidate Mr. Sanwo-Olu.

 

“Who is Funke Akindele before Sanwo-Olu of Lagos? She is an ant,” the supporters sang.

“Don’t even bother to mention her name in my presence. It is an insult. It is disrespectful,” Mr. Tinubu replied disdainfully.

Recall that the Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has been named the Peoples Democratic Party deputy governorship candidate of Lagos State.

The actress confirmed her deputy governorship candidacy in a video on her verified Instagram page on Tuesday 12th july.

 

With this position, she had become the running mate of the PDP Lagos State governorship candidate, Olajide Adediran, popularly called Jandor.

In the video she posted on Tuesday, she revealed her reasons for becoming a running mate.
