Trump: Israel Agrees To 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire, Urges Hamas To Accept Deal

Trump concluded his remarks by expressing optimism that a deal could be finalized during his talks with Netanyahu next week, reaffirming U.S. commitment to brokering a peaceful resolution.

Trump has announced Israel’s agreement to a 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire and urged Hamas to accept deal.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that U.S. President, Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Israel has agreed to the terms of a proposed 60-day ceasefire in the ongoing Gaza conflict, placing the onus on Hamas to accept the deal and bring temporary relief to the war-torn region.

Writing on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said the United States would use the two-month pause to engage all stakeholders in efforts to bring the conflict to a permanent end.

“The deal is on the table, and I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this deal, because it will not get better — IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” Trump stated.

Trump confirmed that U.S. representatives held “a long and productive” meeting with Israeli officials on Tuesday to solidify terms of the proposed ceasefire. While Israeli authorities have yet to issue a public response, the former president indicated that momentum is building around the initiative.

Mediators from Qatar and Egypt — key intermediaries in past negotiations — are expected to formally deliver the proposal to Hamas in the coming days.

The proposed ceasefire, which Trump has hinted at in recent weeks, comes ahead of a high-level meeting between Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, scheduled for next week in Washington. The ongoing conflict in Gaza will top their agenda.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Trump-led initiative marks the latest in a series of international efforts aimed at de-escalating violence between Israel and Hamas, following months of mounting casualties, humanitarian crisis, and global concern.
