1. The number of Nigerian students who have indicated a willingness to return to the country from war-torn Sudan has risen to 1,700 but the Federal Government said the tense situation in Sudan was making it difficult for stranded Nigerian citizens to be evacuated from the country.
2. The Imo State Police Command has launched a manhunt for the killers of five policemen and a couple at Okpala Junction in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of the state. Some gunmen had on Friday opened fire on the cops, who went to eat at a local restaurant, killed all of them and carted away their rifles.
3. President Muhammadu Buhari has appealed to people he might have hurt in the course of his duties to pardon him. He made the appeal during the ninth and final Sallah homage paid him by residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), led by the minister, Mohammed Bello, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

9. No fewer than 10 persons have been confirmed dead out of 177 suspected cases of cerebrospinal meningitis reported in Degubi community, Nangere Local Government Area of Yobe State. Meningitis is an infection and inflammation of the fluid and membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord. It is a devastating disease and remains a major public health challenge.
10. The Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended a middle-aged man, identified simply as Kenneth, for allegedly hacking his girlfriend to death in the state capital. It was gathered that the man allegedly hacked his girlfriend, Ebenezer Agada, 27, using a machete to cut her into pieces for allegedly plotting to dump him for another man.
