1. There are indications that the Department of State Services is likely to approach the court on Tuesday to obtain an order to keep the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, in its custody for as long as his interrogation will last.
2. A widow, identified simply as Mary, and her son, Prince, has been electrocuted by a dangling high-tension cable at the Eruemukohwarien community in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State. The cable was said to have fallen on the rooftop of a market stall on Friday when tragedy struck.
3. Ahead of the June 13 inauguration of the 10th National Assembly, the Peoples Democratic Party has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress of plotting to intimidate and arrest lawmakers-elect seen as championing the independence of the legislature to influence the choice of the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
