All Progressive Congress presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has settled for Muslim vice-president, according to Governor Ganduje of Kano State.
Newsonline reports that Abdullahi Ganduje stated that the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, is committed to bringing something new into the country’s politics.
Governor Abdullahi Ganduje stated this on Friday while addressing 100 Muslim clerics in Kano as part of activities to mark Eid-El Kabir.
Governor Ganduje said, “We have advised him [Tinubu] to pick a Muslim deputy, and he has agreed.
“A Muslim-Muslim ticket is a reality. It’s not something new in Nigeria.”
Ganduje also asked the clerics to pray for Tinubu to emerge as Nigeria’s next president in 2023.
However a Muslim Scholar, Sheihk Halliru called on Muslims not to vote for any candidate with Muslim-Muslim tickets.

Sheikh Halliru stated that those promoting the idea of a Muslim-Muslim or Christian-Christian presidential ticket, in today’s Nigeria, do not wish the country well especially now that it is divided along religious fault lines.
Sheikh Halliru Abdullahi Maraya, who was a former Special Adviser to a former governor of Kaduna State on Islamic Religious Matters and Hajj, said it was wrong for a true Muslim to support injustice by voting party that fields Muslim-Muslim tickets.
The former Lagos State governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu scored 1,271 votes to defeat his closest contenders, Rotimi Amaechi, who pulled 316 votes, and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who scored 235 votes in APC presidential primary election.
