President Tinubu has urged Nigerians in diaspora to return, says Nigeria is rising again.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians living abroad to return home and contribute to the nation’s growth, assuring them that the country is undergoing reforms and “rising again.”

This Nigeria news platform understands that President made the appeal on Thursday at the Kahala Hotel and Resort in Yokohama, Japan, during an interactive session with Nigerians on the sidelines of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9).

Tinubu said his administration is committed to creating an enabling environment where citizens can thrive, stressing that Nigeria’s development cannot be left to government alone.

“Your contribution is very much needed. If you stay away, who will build it?” he asked, urging Nigerians abroad to serve as true ambassadors and project a positive image of the country.

Highlighting reforms, Tinubu noted progress in passport issuance, stabilised economic fundamentals, expanded healthcare investment to reduce medical tourism, and initiatives to attract investors, strengthen the stock market, and expand business opportunities.

He added that citizenship is not only about holding a passport but also about demonstrating character and commitment to national development.

Members of the Nigerian community in Japan, including professionals, entrepreneurs, and students, pledged their support for the President’s reforms. Emeka Ebogota, President of the Nigerian Union in Japan, thanked Tinubu for engaging with them directly and assured that the Union is ready to contribute to Nigeria’s transformation.

The event was attended by senior government officials, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Solid Minerals Dele Alake, Minister of Regional Development Abubakar Momoh, Minister of Science and Technology Uche Nnaji, Minister of Budget Atiku Bagudu, and Minister of State for Finance Doris Uzoka-Anite.
