Tinubu has reportedly sent VP Shettima to visit ailing Ex-President Buhari in London.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that President Bola Tinubu has reportedly dispatched Vice President Kashim Shettima to London to visit former President Muhammadu Buhari, who is currently receiving medical treatment in a hospital in the UK.

The visit comes amid growing speculation over Buhari’s health status, with unverified reports claiming he was critically ill and in intensive care. However, Bashir Ahmad, a former media aide to Buhari, dismissed the claims, confirming that while the former president is unwell, he is on the path to recovery and not in critical condition.

According to The Cable, Shettima was originally in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, at the invitation of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali for the launch of the Green Legacy Initiative. However, President Tinubu directed him to make a detour to London to personally assess Buhari’s condition and convey his support and well wishes.

Sources revealed that Shettima left Addis Ababa on Sunday night and arrived in London on Monday before proceeding to the hospital where Buhari is being treated.

When contacted, Stanley Nkwocha, media aide to Vice President Shettima, confirmed his principal’s presence in London but declined to provide details about the purpose of the trip, stating he was not privy to the vice president’s full itinerary.
