NewsOnline Nigeria reports that T-Mobile will pay a $60 million settlement over alleged data breach violations, which is the largest fine by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
According to several outlets, T-Mobile failed to disclose and take action against data leaks that occurred after its $26 billion merger with Sprint in 2020, and therefore violated a national security agreement for the merger.
A spokesperson for T-Mobile said the incident happened because of technical issues the company experienced during its post-merger integration, and the breach did not impact customer information.
