Sowore has urged NLC to shut down Nigeria over Governor Hope Uzodinma’s attempt to assassinate Ajaero.

Newsonline Nigeria reports that the 2023 African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State of attempting to assassinate the National President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Joe Ajaero.

This Nigeria news platform understands that Sowore urged NLC to shut down Nigeria until Uzodinma is removed from office.

Recall that some miscreants had disrupted NLC’s protest in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

The NLC president was in Owerri to mobilize Imo workers for a mega protest rally in the state over an alleged violation and abuse of rights and privileges of workers by the state government.

The violence that broke out during the rally led to men of the Nigeria Police Force whisking away Ajaero.

Amid backlash from some Nigerians, the police quickly denied arresting Ajaero, saying the NLC president was taken into custody following an attack on him.

Reacting, Sowore posted on X: “This barbarism is unacceptable, @HopeUzodinma sent thugs to assault and possibly assassinate @NLCHeadquarters President Joe Ajaero.

“The @NLCHeadquarters ought to shut down the country until the Imo State Governor and his thugs are removed from office. #RevolutionNow.”
