Primate Ayodele has predicted the Tax Reform Bills’ failure.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Sunday, revealed that the proposed Tax Reform will not have any significant impact on Nigeria’s economy.

Primate Ayodele said the tax reform needs to be reviewed properly by President Bola Tinubu because it won’t add so much value to the country’s economic situation.

In a statement by his Media Aide, Oluwatosin Osho, the prophet mentioned that as time goes on, churches, and NGOs will also begin to pay tax and this would be met by stiff opposition as people will not be in support of it.

He said: “The government should address the issue of Tax reforms properly because it won’t make the economy of the country buoyant. It will only lead to corruption and will not add so much value to the economy of the country.

“Churches and NGOs will also begin to pay indirect tax yet nothing significant will be done regarding the economy of the country.

“There is a need for the president to look into it properly so that the intention of the Tax reform will not be defeated, leading to the vindication of those that are opposing it.“

Primate Ayodele also explained that tax reform is a good thing and a great step, but it won’t be properly handled.

He noted that it would make more money for the government, but it wouldn’t be used appropriately.

“VAT will be increased and it won’t make the economy boom. The tax reform is a good thing, it’s a great step but it won’t be handled properly.

“It won’t be perfectly handled. The government will make money from it but will they use it appropriately?” He queried.

Furthermore, Primate Ayodele called on the government to prioritize reforms that will improve the lives of the common man and directly affect their lives.

He advised the President to prioritize the welfare of the citizens.

“I want to call on the government to prioritize reforms that will make lives better for the common man and will make life better for them.

“Government needs to make money but the welfare of the people is more important than any other thing,” he added.
