Peter Obi has debunked the alleged apology from British Government over his detention.

NewsOnline reports that the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, on Thursday, refuted a report that the British government has tendered an apology over his detention by immigration officials.

The former Anambra governor was reportedly detained by immigration officials at Heathrow Airport in London over alleged impersonation.

A report, however, emerged on Wednesday that the British government has apologized to Obi over his treatment at the Airport.

But Obi, in a statement issued by Diran Onifade, Head, Media and Communications of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council debunked the report, saying they are not aware of such an apology.

“We would like to state emphatically that we are not aware of any such apology and have not issued any statement whatsoever, in that regard.

“While we continue to examine any dubious or political motive, on the part of the perpetrators of the identity theft,

“We have every confidence in the ability of the British authorities to resolve the matter, to a conclusion” the statement added.
