The Labour Party has described its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as an incorruptible man who is the best for Nigeria as president.
NewsOnline reports that Labour Party said the transparent records of the former governor of Anambra State cannot be equated with that of the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu.
Kenneth Okonkwo, spokesman for the Obi/Datti presidential campaign council said this on Tuesday while speaking on Arise TV’s morning show’.
Kenneth said as governor, Obi rejected a parcel of land from the state government which was in line with the constitution of the state. He said the LP candidate also rejected pension as former governor of Anambra. He noted that Obi as governor for 8 years did not owe civil servants, public servants, contractors and pensioners.
The Obi/Datti spokesman, Okonkwo added that the LP candidate’s transparency was responsible for his reinstatement by court after members of the House of Assembly during his regime impeached him because he did not inflate budgets.

The Labour Party presidential candidate -who joined his new party in May 2022 – has, however, attributed his transparent lifestyle even as a public servant to the role his mother played in his upbringing.
Obi while speaking at Chatham House on Monday on his policies said in line with his mother’s counsel to him to always place people first in all policies for the betterment of the society, he will turn Nigeria around.
Obi added that solving Nigeria’s corruption problem requires a leader who is not corrupt. He added that when a leader and his family are not corrupt, 50% of corruption cases in the country will be gone.
He said, “When people of competence, character, commitment, and compassion take over leadership and pursue their mission and task with the seriousness required, a New Nigeria characterized by peace, unity, prosperity, inclusiveness will be achieved and sustained.
“In line with my upbringing, especially my Mother’s counsel, my promise is that Nigeria’s resources will be most prudently used and as the Commander in Chief, I Peter Obi sincerely pledge that Our Pact with Nigeria will be diligently pursued to create a new Nigeria characterized by sustainable/inclusive growth and development.
