The former governor of Borno State was announced the vice-presidential candidate of the ruling APC by Bola Tinubu.

Speaking on Channel’s Television Politics Today programme, on Friday, Kashim Shettima said, “The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has no political base and structure to win the next coming election in 2023. As far as I am concerned, he’s politically structureless with little or no experience to lead this country.
“Presidential position is not for the unprepared, neither is it an all comers affairs. Peter Obi can only become a President in Igbo land but definitely not in Nigeria. Nigeria is too big for him to handle.
“He has no leadership ideology nor experience like President Muhammadu and our incoming President in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
Shettima was supposed to be officially unveiled by the ruling party on Thursday as the running mate of APC presidential candidate Tinubu.
The APC Campaign Press Corp Chairman told newsmen that the unveiling has been postponed indefinitely, without giving reason.
Since Shettima’s announcement by Tinubu as running mate, many media reports had surfaced on the alleged linking of the former Borno governor with the Boko-Haram terrorist group.
Nigeria’s internal intelligence unit, DSS, in a classified report to President Buhari, stated that the fielding of Muslim-Muslim tickets by the ruling APC is inimical to the country’s security.
