Newsonline reports that the PDP governors are expected to meet Mohammed today.

Indications emerged yesterday that the five aggrieved governors have capitalized on the sidelining of Mohammed by Atiku to woo him to their side, The NATION reports.

A source, who spoke in confidence, said: “Since Atiku is yet to meet peace terms with Bala and other stakeholders, the G-5 has been mounting pressure on him to join their team in the battle against Atiku.

“All the aggrieved five governors are relocating to Bauchi on Wednesday to prove a point that they are forces to be reckoned with in the party.

“We do not know whether or not Bala will accept the offer to increase the team to G-6.”

The G-5 comprising Governors Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue); Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), have refused to back the presidential candidate of their party, Atiku Abubakar.

The five governors are demanding the resignation or removal of the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu before they can support Atiku.

Bala Mohammed, on his part, has fallen out with the presidential candidate of the main opposition party.

Recall that the Bauchi State governor sent Ayu a letter accusing Atiku of looking away as crises consumed the party’s structure in the state.

Governor Mohammed said Atiku had not shown him the needed respect and confidence to work.

In the letter, the governor claimed that he was excluded from the activities of the campaign council as it related to his office and was not carried along on certain decisions.

Ayu, Tambuwal, Lamido meet Bauchi gov

The National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, alongside the Director-General of the PDP presidential campaign council for Atiku Abubakar, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, and former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, on Saturday, met in Bauchi for consultations.

They arrived in Bauchi on Saturday evening to meet with Governor Bala Muhammed of the state.

The delegation met the Bauchi governor, as according to them, he is a major stakeholder and an experienced leader in the country.

According to Ayu, he said they were in Bauchi to brief the governor on the development that is going on in the party, nationally, and to seek his wise counsel because he is considered to be an experienced leader in this country.
