As journalists bring to the citizens daily happenings in the country, the presidency has called on the media to partner with the Federal government of President Muhammadu Buhari in tackling issues confronting the nation.
Newsonline reports that the presidency said the high rate of criticism from the media may lead the country into a tailspin which would affect journalists.
President Buhari Media and Publicity Aide, Femi Adesina, a renowned journalist made the call in Abuja on Tuesday.
The former editor of one of the dailies made the call at State House, Abuja, while receiving an award from a radio station.
Adesina told journalists that through much criticism of the present administration, the country may head to a tailspin that would not spare media houses.

He advised the media to partner with the Federal government to address issues confronting the nation, stating that the journalists should know that they have no other country other than Nigeria.
Adesina said: “The media should partner with the government instead of being adversaries. What you find in the media at times is that they are so adversarial to the government, which does not have to be. This is our country and we don’t have any other one.
“If they send the country into a tailspin through too much criticism, even the media won’t even be able to do its work. So, we should always bear in mind that it is our country and whatever we make of it is what we get.”
