Sources close to the presidential candidate of APC, Bola Tinubu disclosed that efforts are being made to ensure that aggrieved members of the party are brought on board, Telegraph reports.
The source said, “We are aware of some discontent within the party over the emergence of Asiwaju as the candidate of the party and we are not resting on our laurels on this. We are indeed working on it. We have secured the needed assurances from Governor El-Rufai to help in this regard.”
A source close to the Vice President said Osinbajo was absent because of the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari that asked him not to be part of the PCC.
Recall that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President, Dr. Ahmed Lawan, former Minister of Transport, Rotimi Ameachi, Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, his Ebonyi State counterpart, Dave Umahi, among others, contested the APC presidential ticket against the former Lagos State governor.
Some of the presidential aspirants that contested against Tinubu had kept their distance from the happenings within the party, as well as the activities surrounding the presidential campaign, a sign that all was not well within the ruling party.
Meanwhile, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, on Thursday during an interactive session with the media in Abuja, said that all the presidential aspirants who contested against the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu are all in his support.
