Omah Lay Says Nigerian Music Industry Is Losing Its Spark

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Afrobeats sensation, Stanley Omah Didia, better known as Omah Lay, has stated that the Nigerian music scene is gradually becoming dull.

The “Soso” crooner hinted that he plans to reignite excitement in African music soon.

Taking to Snapchat, he wrote, “Una music industry is boring AF! Spirit is coming to f**k up the continent in a bit.”

This comes shortly after fellow Nigerian singer, Slimcase, voiced similar concerns about the state of the country’s music industry, saying that Afrobeats is becoming monotonous.

The Shaku Shaku crooner advised Afrobeats artists to reduce the frequency of their music releases to rebuild excitement and anticipation among fans.

According to him, the constant flood of new songs from Afrobeats stars is “killing” the genre.
