Oil Theft: I'm A Victim Of Corruption Fighting Back- Ex-EFCC Boss, Magu

A Former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has said he was a victim of corruption fighting back.

 

Newsonline reports that Magu said his removal as the Chairman of EFCC was a result of corruption fighting back, but he was happy with the recent development in the country concerning the oil theft discovered by NNPC.

 

Magu, who disclosed this on Sunday while speaking in Abuja said he was happy that events happening in the country are opening the eyes of Nigerians.

The former EFCC boss who was represented by his son Mohammad-Saeed Ibrahim-Magu said, “I am a victim of corruption fighting back, but I am happy that recent events are revealing the truth to Nigerians.”

 

Ibrahim Magu added that the anti-corruption fight in the country requires seeing beyond political affiliation.

 

“The anti-corruption fight in Nigeria is a binding moral duty that requires seeing beyond political affiliations or preferences,” he said.

 

Magu was arrested and detained in July 2020, after he was indicted of misappropriation.

 

The panel, led by Ayo Salami, a former judge, indicted Magu of gross misconduct.
