Nnamdi Kanu’s Arrest

Senator Abaribe is set to get an N100 million bail refund from the federal government following Nnamdi Kanu’s rearrest.

Abaribe, who was the principal surety to Kanu is set to possibly apply for a refund of his N100M forfeited to the federal government when Kanu jumped bail.

The embattled secessionist leader jumped bail since 2019 but was rearrested on Sunday and will appear in Federal High Court for a continuation of his criminal trial on terrorism charges.

Abaribe had forfeited the huge sum due to his inability to produce Kanu in court to face the criminal trial. The Abia North senator was given granted an opportunity to produce Kanu five times but could not meet up.
