1. State governments, which sued the Federal Government on the naira redesign policy, have given the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, and the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele, till Tuesday to comply with the order of the Supreme Court on the currency.

2. The Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council, on Sunday, reiterated that its supporters won’t back down on their planned nationwide demonstration unless the Independent National Electoral Commission grants LP’s lawyers access to materials from the contentious February 25 presidential election.

3. No fewer than 18 people were feared killed on Saturday evening in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State when terrorists clashed with local security guards. This is just as the death toll of Saturday night attack on Ungwan Wakili community in Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State rose to 17.

4. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has slammed political parties intruding into its affairs to dictate on how it should operate the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS. Mr Festus Okoye, the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee who made this known on Sunday, stressed that it is the INEC’s function to regulate the affairs of the political parties and not vice versa.

5. The Enugu State Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Chijioke Edeoga, has raised the alarm over alleged plots by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, to violently influence and manipulate the outcome of the electoral process using armed political thugs.

6. Clearing agents under the aegis of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) have decried the high level of extortion and over 260 security checkpoints along Seme and Idiroko borders. This is even as they said policemen now turned to money agents as they give out cash to people who are in need of money and collect transfers in return.

7. Twenty-one more survivors of last Thursday’s train-bus collision in Lagos have been discharged. Their discharge yesterday brings to 53, the total number of injured civil servants being conveyed in the bus to their office when the crash happened at Sogunle.

8. Nigerian songstress, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems has arrived at the 2023 Oscars in a stunning white dress. Tems was nominated for the 2023 edition of the Oscars in the category of Best Original Song courtesy of a collaboration she had on the song, “Lift Me Up” with popular singer, Rihanna, music producer, Ludwig Göransson and Black Panther’s director, Ryan Coogler.

9. Goods and property worth millions of naira were, at the weekend, destroyed in a fire outbreak at the oil mill market along Aba Road in Port Harcourt. Though the cause of the fire was not immediately ascertained, it was learnt that it started in the morning when traders were still in their houses.

10. The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has warned that the continuous disobedience to the Supreme Court judgment regarding the use of the old naira notes could lead to the breakdown of law and order. In a statement, ACF’s Secretary General, Murtala Aliyu, agreed with the state governors, who sued the Federal Government over the policy.
