1. President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, said the Federal Government of Nigeria has saved N1tn within two months since the removal of petrol subsidy. Tinubu said the money that would have been otherwise squandered by those he called “smugglers and fraudsters” will now be channeled into intervention programmes targeting families nationwide.
2. Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has said that President Bola Tinubu will not regret nominating him as a minister in his cabinet. Wike made this known while fielding questions at the National Assembly during the ministerial screening on Monday.
3. The organised labour, on Monday, maintained its stand to proceed with its planned protest over the removal of petroleum subsidy. 10. Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Monday convicted three students for conspiring to gang-rape a cousin of one of them. The court found them guilty of two counts of criminal conspiracy and rape of the victim (name withheld) at the Adangba area, in Ilorin East Local Government Area of the State.
