The NDLEA operatives at the NAHCO import shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos, had intercepted a consignment of 32.70 kilograms of Loud.
After freight agent, Ukoh Ifeanyi Oguguo was detained, further investigations led to the arrest of four others: Chikodi Favour; Obiyom Shalom Chiamaka; Nnochiri Chidinma Promise and Edward Omatseye (a.k.a. Montana).
Favour, a 15-year-old, was the first sales girl apprehended at a fuel station in the Ajah area of Lagos. She thereafter led the operatives to a duplex accommodation in the Ikate area of Lekki.
The residence was discovered to be a rented apartment by the criminal group purposely for the young girls the syndicate uses for the marketing and distribution of illicit drugs.
Another girl, Shalom, a fresh graduate of Agricultural Science from Rivers State University of Science and Technology, was picked alongside Favour.
The syndicate rented another building used as a drugs warehouse inside Richmond Estate, Lekki. Drugs paraphernalia, including a sealing machine, bloating machine and packaging bags, were recovered.
A follow-up operation led to the arrest of Edward Omatseye in Lekki, who confessed to working for Igho and his wife, Danielle, the overall heads of the criminal organisation.
The NDLEA confirmed it obtained an order from the Federal High Court in Lagos to declare Prophetess Faith Ugochi and the celebrity couple wanted.
