Vinicius was recently the subject of a racist attack during Real Madrid’s LaLiga derby against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
Newsonline report that there was widespread loud and numerous chants from Atletico Madrid fans on Sunday night at the Civitas Metropolitano calling Vinicius a monkey.
LaLiga have since stated that they are investigating the matter, while Atletico Madrid released a statement condemning the actions and claiming they had told the authorities to identify the offenders so they could take action against them.
Speaking on the development from New York on NATO business, Sanchez said he was expecting firm action from Atletico Madrid because he is a great follower of Los Colchoneros.
“I am a great follower of Atletico Madrid, so I was very sad,” Sanchez told Mundo Deportivo.
“I expected a strong message from the clubs against these types of behaviours. And this is what I will ask for from my team.”
