NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, on Monday held an unprecedented cross-party engagement with youth leaders drawn from 14 political parties, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to inclusive and collaborative governance.

The interactive dinner, held in Lagos, brought together youth representatives from NRM, BOOT, AAC, APM, ADP, APGA, PDP, NNPP, PRP, AA, YPP, SDP, LP, and ZLP marking a rare moment of political unity among young leaders in the state.

In his address, Hon. Ogunlende emphasised the importance of separating politics from governance, stressing that leadership must focus on service delivery and the wellbeing of every Lagos resident, irrespective of political leaning.

“Governance is different from politics. Our priority must be ensuring that no one is left behind,” the Commissioner said, urging youth leaders to work together for the progress of Lagos and the nation.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Mr. Opeyemi Alabi, commended the initiative, describing it as a testament to what young Nigerians can achieve when united by a shared vision. He noted that the cross-party dialogue showcased the power of youth engagement in fostering development and peaceful coexistence.

The meeting concluded with a unanimous pledge from all participating youth leaders to strengthen cooperation and support policies that promote youth empowerment and national advancement.

Hon. Ogunlende reaffirmed the Lagos State Government’s commitment to expanding opportunities for young people, insisting that building a greater Nigeria requires collective responsibility, mutual respect, and enduring collaboration across political divides.
