Lagos Speaker Obasa has endorsed Tinubu re-election support group ahead of 2027 polls.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and a leading member of the state’s Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, has endorsed the Southwest Arewa Community Renewed Hope Agenda for Asiwaju 2027, a pro-Tinubu support group mobilising backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Obasa declared his support on Sunday, January 25, 2025, at a mega empowerment programme organised by a member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, who represents Kosofe Federal Constituency and chairs the House Committee on Women Affairs.

The Lagos Assembly Speaker, who attended the event as a special guest, commended the Southwest Arewa Community group, popularly known as SWAC 4 ABAT AGAIN 2027 for its continued support for President Tinubu’s administration. He assured the group of his backing, describing its mobilisation efforts as critical to sustaining the country’s economic reforms under the APC-led Federal Government.
“I acknowledge and commend the sterling leadership of the Director General of the Southwest Arewa Community Renewed Hope Agenda for Asiwaju 2027, Alhaji Shehu Usman Sampam,” Obasa said, pledging his support for Tinubu’s second-term bid.
Earlier in her keynote address, Hon. Ogbara presented a scorecard of her stewardship to constituents across Kosofe Local Government Area, Ikosi-Isheri LCDA and Agboyi-Ketu LCDA. She highlighted interventions in education, healthcare, economic empowerment, human capital development and infrastructure, while promising expanded programmes in the next phase of her representation.
The empowerment exercise featured the distribution of vehicles, electric tricycles, motorcycles, generators, deep freezers and Bosch tools to beneficiaries, including artisans and mechanics trained under constituency-based initiatives.
The event attracted several dignitaries, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas (represented by a lawmaker from Ogun State), former Lagos West Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly, APC chieftains, council chairmen, traditional rulers and community leaders.
Responding, Alhaji Sampam thanked Obasa for what he described as a strategic endorsement, noting that the Speaker’s support would further strengthen the group’s outreach. He said the Southwest Arewa Community Renewed Hope Agenda would intensify advocacy for continuous voter registration and APC membership enrolment to mobilise support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Sampam also praised Hon. Ogbara for what he described as people-centred representation, adding that her performance in office positioned her for renewed public support in the next election cycle.
