The National Security Adviser, NSA, Major General Babagana Monguno, (retd), has said it is understandable that Nigerians because of the state of insecurity in the country are tired and resulting in self-help.

Newsonline reports that the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monuguno promised Nigerians that a news strategy is in plave to fight the insecurity and defeat terrorism.

Monguno also disclosed that President Buhari is worried about the state of insecurity in the country and is putting efforts to ensure it is addressed.

The National Security Adviser, Major General Babagana Monguno (retd), revealed this to State House correspondents at the close of Thursday’s security council meeting chaired by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The NSA called on Nigerians to join hands with security agencies by volunteering information that will help to curb insecurity.

“We are in a difficult situation. The council understands. The President understands. But there is no straight, cut-and-drive method around this unless we collectively fight it.

“People are getting tired and are beginning to gravitate into other means of self-help. But the truth is that help is rooted in everyone working together to end this,” he said.

Monguno said that the new strategy to address the insecurity in the country is already been worked out by the various entities concerned.

“The various entities concerned have started working on these new strategies. They have also given their word to the President,” Monguno explained.

Major General Babagana Monguno further disclosed that investigations will soon be concluded on the Kuje jailbreak on July 5.

Newsonline had reported the threat by terrorist groups, Boko-Haram and ISWAP, released by NSCDC to attack schools in Abuja, Lagos, Kogi, Katsina, and Kaduna.

The terrorists had in a video threatened to attack and abduct President Buhari and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna state.
