
Newsonline reports that former Lagos commissioner, Ogundimu is dead.
The two-time commissioner in Lagos State, Dr. Olusegun Oluwatoberu Ogundimu, Newsonline gathered was pronounced dead early hours of Saturday in Nigeria’s commercial city, Lagos.
Newsonline reports that the demise of the former Lagos commissioner was disclosed via a statement by his son, Oluwadamilola Ogundimu, on Saturday.
Ogundimu, Newsonline learnt died at the age of 71.
The family, in the statement, described Ogundimu as a “strong advocate of democratic governance aimed at promoting healthcare development in the country”, noting that the late medical doctor and former Commissioner would be buried on Thursday, August 12, 2021, in Lagos.
Newsonline reports that Olusegun Ogundimu as a commissioner during the military regime of Buba Marwa, embarked on numerous health programmes that promoted the healthcare delivery system in Lagos State, particularly for the benefit of the people at the grassroots.
He was appointed a member of the Lagos State Hospital Inspectorate Committee in 1985.
Ogundimu was also appointed as the Chairman of Lagos State Water Corporation in 1992–1994.
Before his death, Newsonline reports that Olusegun Ogundimu was a member of TaskForce, Traffic Decongestion, and Control, Lagos State in 1993.
