FirstBank has introduced facial biometric technology and virtual cards on FirstMobile to tevolutionize digital banking experience.

The upgraded FirstMobile app now offers:

  • Flexible salary advance options with 3-month repayment terms
  • General app performance enhancements and bug fixes

According to FirstBank, these new features are part of its ongoing commitment to making digital banking intuitive, secure, and accessible to all customers—no matter where they are in the world.

Biometric Security for Seamless Onboarding

The newly introduced facial biometric authentication enables customers to sign up or activate the app using only their face, eliminating the need for debit or credit cards. Built with anti-spoof detection, the feature offers robust protection against fraud, reinforcing FirstBank’s dedication to data security.

This update is particularly beneficial for customers in various categories, including:

  • Diaspora users without physical cards
  • Customers with lost, expired, or unverifiable cards
  • New users who prefer cardless digital banking
