
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has closed down an Access Bank branch in Abuja over non-payment of ground rent.
The FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, had warned several building owners which including the Access Bank branch, that failure to pay the ground rent, which has piled up for years, would result in seizure of the building.
A few days ago, the minister, through his spokesperson, revealed that on Monday (today), enforcement would be taking place.
Based on reports available to this publication, the Access Bank branch has been closed down with a sticker that says the building now belongs to the FCTA.
