EFCC has declared “Judgment Begins in the House of God” in latest campaign.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced that its latest campaign against corruption, themed “Fighting Economic and Financial Crimes in the House of God,” emphasizes that judgment begins with believers.

The announcement was made on Tuesday via the Commission’s official X account, marking the 164th edition of EFCC Connect. The campaign draws inspiration from 1 Peter 4:17, a biblical verse often interpreted to mean that God’s judgment or a time of testing starts with His own people before extending to others.

The post has sparked a mix of reactions among X users. Some questioned the focus, suggesting that the government and public officials should be prioritized. @SMARTEk2050 commented: “No judgement of EFCC should start from the house of governments and public offices first. Allow God’s judgment to start from HIS own house.”

Other reactions were more direct: @Jiro Dezi wrote, “From EFCC office first,” while @Tache added, “Eagle wey dey look one direction.” @Blacklord Plus Two argued, “You are not in position to judge the house of God,” and @Big Dada criticized the EFCC, saying, “You have no jurisdiction to say such thing, when your own judgement favors the corrupt politicians looting the economy, shame on you.”

The EFCC Connect initiative continues to focus on promoting integrity and accountability in all sectors, including religious institutions, as part of the Commission’s wider anti-corruption mandate.
