Deputy Speaker Kalu Hails Former Abia Governor Ikpeazu for Promoting Free Speech, Inclusive Leadership

Deputy Speaker Kalu has hailed Former Abia Governor Ikpeazu for promoting free speech and inclusive leadership.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has commended former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, for fostering an atmosphere of tolerance, peace, and freedom of expression during his time in office.

Kalu gave the commendation in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, to mark Ikpeazu’s 61st birthday celebration.

The Deputy Speaker lauded the former governor for accommodating diverse political views and allowing opposition voices to thrive without fear of persecution.

“Ikpeazu’s government accommodated the views of the opposition and upheld the principles of free speech, allowing critics to express themselves without fear,” Kalu said.

He further described the ex-governor as humble, approachable, and people-oriented, noting that his leadership style earned him admiration across party lines.

“Dr. Ikpeazu’s humility and willingness to listen endeared him to the people of Abia State. His administration also made significant progress in infrastructure development, laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth,” Kalu added.

The Deputy Speaker congratulated Ikpeazu on his new age and praised his commitment to peace, unity, and service to humanity, wishing him continued health and success in his future endeavours.
