Davido has been inducted as a voting member of Recording Academy ahead of 2026 Grammy Awards.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Afrobeats megastar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been officially inducted as a voting member of the Recording Academy, the global body behind the prestigious Grammy Awards.

The new role gives the Feel crooner,  who earned three Grammy nominations in 2024 the power to participate directly in the nomination and final-ballot processes for the 2026 GRAMMYs.

Confirming his induction, the Recording Academy shared a video on Instagram on Tuesday showcasing Davido alongside other newly admitted members.

Speaking on the milestone, Davido said he was proud to join the community of music professionals shaping the world’s biggest music awards.

“Understanding the importance of how our voices are heard, I am participating in the GRAMMY Award process. It is a game-changer. Voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on each season. I am honoured to be part of the Recording Academy community, and I look forward to voting,” he said.

Davido’s inclusion highlights the Academy’s ongoing efforts to diversify and expand its membership base, with more representation from African and other international artists.

Meanwhile, the Academy announced that voting for the 2026 GRAMMY Awards will officially open on October 3, 2025, urging members to review the ballot, listen, and cast their votes early.
