Dangote Group has spoken on Enugu fatal crash that wiped away all family members.
NewsOnline Nigeria reports that Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has clarified that the truck involved in the fatal accident that claimed several lives on the Enugu-Port Harcourt highway on Wednesday does not belong to the company.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the conglomerate explained that the vehicle was owned and operated by Visco Investment Global Limited, a third-party operator, not by Dangote Industries.

Earlier reports had linked the truck to Dangote due to its branding, but the company dismissed the claim, stressing that tighter measures would be introduced to prevent unauthorized use of its identity.
“We are engaging with the appropriate agencies to understand why the truck carried our logo when it is not part of our fleet,” the statement read. “Going forward, stricter scrutiny will be applied to prevent misuse of our brand identity.”
Dangote Industries added that while it typically refrains from commenting on isolated incidents, the spread of misinformation necessitated a response. The company urged the public and media to avoid circulating unverified claims.
Reiterating its commitment to safety and corporate responsibility, DIL pledged full cooperation with authorities investigating the tragedy.
“We strongly reject attempts to exploit this unfortunate incident for malicious or financial gain. Our focus remains on upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability,” the statement added.
