Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Spokesman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed has called on President Buhari’s cabinet to advise him to resign following continuous insecurity in the country.

Newsonline reports that Baba-Ahmed said the high rate of insecurity in the country requires that the President should take a lawful option and leave the office before 2023.

Ahmed said the resignation of President Buhari will help to ensure a safe 2023 and the general election.

The Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Spokesman who said President Buhari’s stay in office is ‘enough’, stated that he will be more terrified if the president decides to stay in office till May 2023 that he should hand over the government.

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed said, “I am terrified by the state of Nigeria. I am more terrified by what it will be by May 2023. If there are people he listens to, they should ask him to consider resigning. Any lawful option is better than his continuing. Raise your voice, Nigeria. It’s enough.”

Baba-Ahmed said President Buhari’s resignation will help to reduce the high rate of abduction that is tearing the country apart.

He said, “It will certainly be better than continuing the way we are going with the certainty of things getting worse because he will do nothing about our circumstances. It will take a lot more, and a lot more time to reverse and rebuild the country, but it will reduce the damage.”
