Ukachukwu defeated his closest challenger, Valentine Ozigbo in the contest.

While Nicholas polled 1,455 votes, Valentine recorded 67 votes.

The Anambra State governorship election, which comes up in November 2025, would be the next major off-circle election in Nigeria.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo has already won the ticket of the state’s ruling party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

Speaking after he was declared winner of the primary election, Ukachukwu vowed to deliver the state to the APC.

He said, “We shall deliver Anambra to the APC. One thing I want to say here, nobody has won the governorship of Anambra without my support; it has never happened before.

“I have been playing godfatherism, but now I want to be the father of the father, no more godfather.”
