President Tinubu is set to review Ministers’ Performance ahead of May 29 Anniversary.

With President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office just days away, a fresh performance report on his ministers is set to land on his desk, triggering anxiety across underperforming ministries.

Sources within the Presidency confirmed that the Central Delivery Coordination Unit (CDCU) has completed a Q1 2025 scorecard assessing ministerial performance based on signed deliverables. The findings, insiders say, are “largely underwhelming,” with only a few ministers rated above average.

“Most ministers fell short on critical metrics,” a source told The PUNCH. The Minister of Works reportedly scored well, but others are facing increased pressure.

Though no immediate sackings are expected before the May 29 anniversary, the report is expected to guide closed-door reviews and a possible cabinet reshuffle.

Hadiza Bala-Usman, who heads the CDCU, is finalising the report after weeks of project verification. Her unit previously informed the October 2024 shake-up, where two ministers were removed.

Opposition parties and civil society groups have slammed the administration, describing it as “a monumental failure.” Critics say sectors like education, health, and security are in crisis, urging Tinubu to act decisively and publicly release the performance data.

Presidential adviser Bayo Onanuga downplayed the tension, calling the report “routine,” but political pressure is mounting for Tinubu to replace non-performing ministers and reset his governance agenda.
